Taquero Mucho Wedding: Danielle and Morgan

There is nothing more fun or personal than a unique Taquero Mucho wedding consisting of a blue bridal gown, taco socks, tequila shots, and all things Instagrammable! And that’s exactly the kind of wedding Danielle and Morgan wanted.

About the Couple

As told by the couple:

“Even our first date wasn’t ‘typical.’ It involved a socially distanced walk with roadies (one major benefit of Covid). This followed by me not letting Morgan into my apartment, because he might spread gems.

We found an instant connection. From career aspirations and life goals to how similar our personalities are. It makes it really hard to be mad at someone who has the same quirks as you!

Morgan and I have been through insane work schedules, a “long distance” relationship, buying and renovating a home together. And now are looking forward to just being in the moment.

The idea of getting married in a taco shop started off as a joke. However, we realized that is exactly the laid back, non-traditional vibe we wanted to celebrate our life together.”

Taquero Mucho Wedding

Living in California, Danielle and Morgan wanted a destination wedding. Somewhere that was also easily accessible for their family and friends to travel during Covid-19 times.

One where all of their family and friends could truly enjoy not only the celebration, but the area, as well. And what better location than Austin, Texas at a venue that embraces all things weird? Not to mention TACOS!

Danielle first spotted Taquero Mucho on Instagram and instantly fell in love. The perfect venue to marry the love of her life. Because Morgan is a HUGE taco lover, he was onboard!

Getting Ready on the Wedding Day

Danielle and Morgan got ready at the amazing Austin Proper.

“Situated in Downtown’s Second Street District, Austin Proper Hotel is the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin City Limits music venue and nearby boutiques.” It’s also the most perfect place for guests to stay and an even more perfect place for the ladies to get ready!

As a little wedding gift for the couple, I got them matching pairs of taco socks. You can imagine my surprise and happiness when the bride pulled them out to get married in!

The First Look

Goldie’s is an intimate cocktail bar on the ground floor of the Austin Proper Hotel. It serves as an elegant setting for a posh celebration” like Danielle and Morgan’s first look.

“The focal point of the room is a marble sunken bar, surrounded by a plush array of tweed and velvet seating.” And the perfect backdrop for Morgan to see Danielle for the first time.

They took a moment to exchange gifts:

Love that they both sported the taco socks I got them as a little “congratulations” gift!! Not to mention, Danielle rocking her customized pink glitter sneakers … way to tie in stylish, comfort, and her pink Taquero Mucho wedding theme!

With Eclipse Event Co. by their side, Danielle and Morgan brought their tacos, shots, and pink theme to life, right down to the customized anti-bitch juice pouch labels (aka strawberry frozen rose):

Being Jewish, they wanted to incorporate the breaking of the glass.

“Couples include this tradition in their wedding ceremony as it symbolizes the absolute finality of the marital covenant.

Just as the broken pieces of glass can never be put back together and returned to its former state, so the covenant of marriage irrevocably binds the new husband and wife in their new state of marriage.”

The Reception

After their guests had some time to take photo opportunities, sign their guest sign-in linen, and grab their seats, it was time for a group shot and dinner time!

And their first dance as a married couple, dancing to Tennessee Whiskey:

I’ve looked for love in all the same old places
Found the bottom of the bottles always dry
But when you poured out your heart I didn’t waste it
‘Cause there’s nothing like your love to get me high

You’re as smooth
As Tennessee whiskey
You’re as sweet
As strawberry wine
You’re as warm
As a glass of brandy
And honey, I stay stoned on your love
All the time

Instead of cake, Danielle and Morgan opted for churros. They had a choice of Dulce de Leche and cherry bourbon, or both! (I’m not going to lie, I opted for both and I am not ashamed to admit it. They were both equally delicious!)
