Happy baptism day to Anastasia! It’s such a huge celebration for the Ocana family to have their firstborn be baptized into the Catholic church.

What is the purpose for being baptized?

 “Baptising cleanses people from original sin and marks a person’s official entry into the Church.” – Desiringgod.org

“Your child is precious to you and precious to God. You want the very best for them, and so does God. You want them to make the right choices in life, for themselves and for others. A christening is just the beginning of this and so much more.”

“Over the years to come, it’s a journey you’ll share together with your child by: Being there for your child to talk to about the bigger questions of life – questions about hope, faith and love. Praying for your child through the ups and downs of their faith journey. Showing them practically how to make those good choices in life. Helping them to learn more about their Christian faith, through their church and in other ways. So it’s a commitment to start as you mean to go on.” – Christianity.com

The Celebration Continues

After the sacrament and family photos, we headed to Cimarron Hills Country Club for a few more formal photos and to celebrate with a yummy meal!

A Bertram Wedding: Kilee and Bradly

This Bertram wedding has it all: a sweet love story, beautiful couple, gorgeous day, and supportive family and friends. Although it was a typical summer day in Texas (by that, I mean, stuffy hot, like an oven), there was a nice breeze and fluffy cloud coverage. It was the perfect kind of day to get married!

An Inseparable Couple

Kilee and Bradly first became friends in the seventh grade. Quickly becoming friends, their relationship grew throughout the years.

It was in the tenth grade that Bradly asked Kilee the big question and they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend.

How He Asked

“Bradly proposed when we were sitting by a lake shore. When I went to stand up so we could leave, he did not. Instead, he moved to one knee, pulled the ring out of his backpack, and popped the question.”

Six years after becoming an official couple, they are ready for their Bertram wedding in Texas!

Down the Aisle, We Go!

This loving, goofy, fun, passionate, outdoorsy couple are the best of friends. And now Kilee and Bradly are ready to head down the aisle and say “I do” at a private residence in Bertram, Texas.

This wedding gown was previously worn by her mother on her wedding day. Now passed down to Kilee, she is ready to rock it!

And although it was a typical summer day in Texas (by that, I mean, stuffy hot, like an oven), there was a nice breeze and fluffy cloud coverage. The perfect kind of day to get married!

The handkerchief was given to Kilee by her grandmother as her something old and borrowed.

Alexis and Philip’s Waco Engagement Session

I met up with Alexis and Philip for their Waco engagement session at their home. Despite it being a scorching hot summer day in Texas, we actually had a beautiful day. And with everything planned, I knew it was going to be the perfect engagement session!

Their Love Story

This beautiful couple met 4-1/2 years ago on Bumble. They had their first date at Ninfa’s and it has been love ever since!

During a romantic dinner outside in their backyard, by the pool, Philip popped the question, with the dogs as their witnesses. How could Alexis resist such an intimate, personal, and perfect proposal? And now they’re ready to say “I do” at Moon River Ranch in December!

Their Waco Engagement Session

Their lives are centered around their dogs, so these two wanted a place they could allow their dogs and themselves to be comfortable. They also wanted a location that provided beautiful backdrops.

When Alexis initially mentioned her home and neighborhood, I was a little skeptical. That is, until she sent photos of the spots she had in mind, and had permission to use. With beautiful and lush foliage and nice walking paths, this neighborhood made for the optimum scene. Not to mention that their dogs are familiar with the area, helping them to be at ease during the session.

Furbabies

Did I mention that the dogs all had coordinated handkerchiefs? Alexis’s first baby before Philip entered their lives, Pompi’s handkerchief says “I loved her first.”

Georgey, the middle furbaby, had a handkerchief saying, “My humans are getting married.”

The newest addition to the gang is Jack and his handkerchief says, “I do, too!”

Could this BE any cuter? Alexis told me that she had this organized and ordered before they even know what they were wearing to their own engagement session!

Being a typical hot summer day in Texas, we found it was only appropriate to head over to Alexis and Philip’s home for an outfit change and …

… mocktails and a dip in the pool! Plus, seeing that Philip proposed next to the pool and swimming in it is one of their favorite hobbies, it was a necessity to capture them in their element.

When I spoke to this couple about how I could tell their unique love story, and how they wanted to feel when they look back at their photos, their response was,

“We want to see love and laughter that our relationship contains! We love to giggle and smile.”

Who wouldn’t want to end a session with a dip in the pool! It was the most perfect Waco engagement session, if I do say so myself!

Malorie and Evan’s Micro Spicewood Wedding

These “outdoorsy homebodies” have been together since high school French class. Fourteen years later, they’re finally ready to say “I do” at their micro Spicewood wedding.

Malorie and Evan

When asked how they would describe their relationship, their response was:

“Silly. We make terrible jokes and awful puns. We have the kind of relationship that can survive a two-person kayak.”

These two love going on adventures together. When at home, they cook together, watch tv, and play video games. Outside of the home, they love seeing and trying new stuff.

Although their relationship has been mostly long distance since high school, they stayed connected. The distance has allowed them to grow together independently but also strengthened their relationship as a couple. Relying on being open and honest with each other is how they continue to build and grow together.

Unconventional but So Sweet

I love a good proposal story. And I love when it’s unique and personal to the couple!

Picture Malorie sitting on the couch. Evan is watching YouTube. She pops out a ring, slides it onto Evan’s finger, and says, “oh, it fits.” And so they became engaged.

A little later, Evan proposed to Malorie. His proposal was “a little drunk and super casual in front of our friends in the middle of a card game.”

In the end, they proposed to each other in their own perfect way.

Fast Forward

As mentioned above, fourteen years ago, these two started dating. So this wedding has been a long time coming. But Covid-19. And the conversation of a destination wedding versus a Spicewood wedding. Eventually Texas wins and they put their plans into motion.

Deciding on an airbnb in Spicewood so that their closest fifteen family and friends could all visit and/or stay for the wedding was their first action. The location was perfect! Located on the Pedernales River and across the street from Blissful Hill, they had all the views. Not to mention that they were able to have their ceremony at Blissful Hill before heading over to enjoy some vegan food at their airbnb.

Spicewood Wedding

Even though it was a hot July day, it was beautiful and perfect for Malorie and Evan’s wedding! Blue skies, fluffy clouds, a slight breeze, greenery all around … we couldn’t have asked for anything more on a summer Texas day!

Like their proposal, their day was anything but traditional. The two of them got ready together, helping one another put on their wedding attire, with their dog, Eliza, by their side. Family and friends were running around the airbnb, loading alcohol, cake, and goodies into the home to prepare for the reception. Evan’s brother and mother were building and putting together the ceremony decoration. It was literally a family and friends affair, and it was perfect!

As one, big group, they all walked down to the ceremony site at Blissful Hill for the Gaelic ceremony, where they exchange traditional Gaelic vows, Evan’s father performed the handfasting ceremony, and Evan and Malorie were married!
